Meet The Doctors

Dr. Curt A. Frogley holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Anatomy and a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, where he was the recipient of many Academic Excellence awards. Dr. Frogley comes from a long line of Chiropractors. His father was a Chiropractor, as are five of his brothers, as well as are five nephews. A member of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association, Dr. Frogley is experienced and clinically skilled in problems affecting the neuromuscloskeletal system, chiropractic pediatric care, nutritional analysis, spinal trauma and rehabilitation, personal injury and workman's compensation cases. Incorporating the most modern chiropractic adjusting procedures in the treatment of his patient insures that the optimal care for each specific problem is utilized.

These techniques include Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, flexion Distraction, and Activator Technique. Dr. Frogley takes pride in providing Family Health Care through Chiropractic as well as spinal injury care and prevention, and is a Functional Medicine Practitioner. He is extremely passionate about True Cellular Detox™. He is currently the only certified True Cellular Detox™ Practitioner in Eastern North Carolina, making us a True Cellular Detox™ Office. Donating much of his time back to the community, Dr. Frogley serves on multiple boards, including the Carolina East Foundation Board, on which he serves as President. Dr. Frogley is married and has three sons.
Dr. James Smith is a native of Virginia Beach, VA. A graduate of First Colonial High School, he then graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a B.S. Degree in biology. After being introduced to chiropractic while being treated for a college football injury, he went on to earn his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA. While studying at Life, Dr. Smith was the Head Clinician on a groundbreaking research study of the effects of chiropractic adjustments on the CD4 cell counts of HIV positive individuals. Following graduation, Dr. Smith was asked to join the Faculty at Life, teaching various topics in Radiology. After entering private practice in Virginia Beach, Dr. Smith also taught Anatomy, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biology at Tidewater Community College.
Skilled in Gonstead, Diversified, Thompson, Cox, and Extremities techniques, Dr. Smith moved to North Carolina in 2004, practicing in both Jacksonville and Cedar Point before joining the Frogley Chiropractic team in 2016. Treating everyone from infants to professional athletes, Dr. Smith is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals.

Meet The Staff

Janet Montero, the smiling face you see at the front desk, is a Certified Chiropractic Assistant. Our patients are her priority and she is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry, as well as helping out in the therapy area as needed. Away from the office you'll likely find her singing somewhere.. either performing as "Mama Bear" with the oldies band The Bears, or entertaining residents at local Assisted Living facilities with The Country Gold Band. And of course, if you really want to see her smile, just ask about her five beautiful granddaughters!
Dana Monk, a Certified Chiropractic Assistant, is the Office Manager, as well as the Insurance and Billing Specialist. She has been with Frogley Chiropractic for over 17 years, during which time she has gained certifications in Radiology, Insurance and Billing. Dana is happy to answer any questions regarding billing and Chiropractic. Away from the office Dana serves as a Mentor for Easter Seals. In her free time you may find her at church, attending sporting events with her husband Larry, and their ever-changing family as foster parents, or just spending time with family and friends.
Heather Kotheimer has over 13 years of combined experience, including digital x-raying, medical dictation, medical records and patient/education care. Heather is a Certified Chiropractic Assistant with a certification in radiography, and is an active member of the NCCA. At Frogley Chiropractic Center, Heather is responsible for most of the new patient intakes, as well as patient exams and x-rays. She also assists in any area that is needed, such as the front desk, therapies, scheduling and insurance. On her days off you can find Heather on her family farm with her 15 year old daughter, Kaitlin, and her boyfriend of twelve years, Danny.
Kyra Simons is our therapy assistant. The most recent addition to our team, she comes to us with a strong history of customer service. She is responsible for attending to patients’ therapies, entering visit notes, assisting with exams and general front desk duties. Her youthful exuberance will lift anyone’s spirits! Away from work you’re likely to find Kyra at the beach or traveling, or just hanging out with her fur baby, Oliver.
